Instead of speaking your native tongue full week until your IELTS class, it is preferable to practice a little bit each day and progressively get better. Additional tips for practicing speaking on the IELTS can be found here.
2.Ask the examiner questions if you don’t understand…
The goal of the IELTS Speaking test is to simulate a typical two-person conversation. Thus, you can ask the examiner to define a word if you don’t understand it. Simply state, “I apologize. Could you please clarify what X means?”
You can also ask them to repeat the question. However, you can’t ask the examiner to explain the whole sentence.
3.Do a 24-hour English warm-up
On exam day, most IELTS candidates need ten to fifteen minutes to “warm-up” and provide their best effort. You should warm up before your IELTS exam, just like an athlete do before a competitive event.
As a result, you should spend a full day before your IELTS Speaking test speaking, writing, reading, and listening in English. It will have a big impact on your score, but your friends and family could think you’re insane!
4.Give full answers
In your IELTS Speaking test, “Yes” and “No” are insufficient responses; instead, you must demonstrate your fluency in English to the examiner.
The examiner will be unable to assess your level of proficiency if you provide extremely brief responses. So, you should make an effort to add examples and explanations to your responses.
5.Correct your mistakes
Speaking constantly makes people to make little errors, particularly when they are nervous about an exam. You can demonstrate to the examiner that you truly understand grammar and vocabulary by working on your errors .
