Which four criteria are used to mark the IELTS writing task? The four marking criteria that the examiner uses to evaluate your response are listed below. Each criterion accounts for 25% of your total IELTS writing work band score.
Task achievement-
One of the criteria that is different between Task 1 and Task 2 is task achievement. It describes how you meet the task’s requirements in at least 150 words in a proper, accurate, and pertinent manner. Writing less than 150 words can lower your band score, so avoid doing so.
In Second Task The criteria is task response. For the prompt, which takes the shape of an opinion or inquiry, you must formulate and support a position. You must include compelling arguments and instances to back up your claims, which can be drawn from your own experiences. It needs to be at least 250 words long.
Lexical resources-
Resources for words Lexical resources are the amount of vocabulary you have used and the accuracy and appropriateness of that usage for the task at hand. To accurately convey the concepts, vocabulary must be used appropriately. Select vocabulary that is relevant to the issue and apply it appropriately in the sentences. Achieving a good band score is facilitated by the skillful use of unusual vocabulary phrases.
Grammatical range and Accuracy-
Grammatical range and accuracy describes how correctly and effectively you may employ the grammar in your answer essay. Sentences should have a clear grammatical structure. The majority of pupils make mistakes with prepositions, articles, subject-verb agreement, and excessive use of the present continuous.
Cohesion and Coherence-
The criteria for coherence and cohesiveness are the same for tasks 1 and 2. How well you connect the ideas in logical sequences is known as coherence. Cohesion refers to the variety and appropriateness with which you construct conceptual and referential ties between and within sentences using cohesive devices, such as pronouns, logical connectors, and conjunctions.
